Description: The Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) catalyzes solutions to the complex challenges of ocean stewardship and economic growth in the Gulf of Maine bioregion.
GMRI's LabVenture! science education program provides universal access to marine science education programming for the 5th or 6th grade classes from every county in Maine. It welcomes students to the Cohen Center for Interactive Learning, where theyconduct their own hands-on research.
Vital Signs is a field-based science education program that builds on the knowledge and skills that students gain as 5th or 6th graders in the Cohen Center for Interactive Learning. Vital Signs links 7th and 8th grade students and scientists in the rigorous collection and analysis of essential environmental data across freshwater and coastal ecosystems.
