Mission: We care for people with life limiting illness, provide support and solace to the grieving, and educate the community.
Volunteers are screened and receive training in the Hospice philosophy of caring for the terminally ill and issues resulting from loss.
Duties may include running errands, light housekeeping, preparing light meals, providing respite to family members or lending emotional support and companionship.
Hospices may not offer youth one-on-one volunteer positions with families, but do offer a wealth of resources on illness, aging, death and grieving.
Regular trainings are offered in which students may be able to take part:http://www.hvosc.net/id1.html
