There is a nice wide sidewalk between the exit/entrance of the DSNY salt lot and garage. The guys in the garage indicated that a tree in this location would not be in their way. This is near the historic plank road that crossed the creek to Furman's Island.  The street end is a mess, but is an ideal location for a street end pocket park in the future, and was identified as such in the BOA. A Bernie Street Tree in this location would be first step in a longer process of building a constituency around this street end.
