After much public debate, Con Edison and KeyStone Energy decided to end plans for a proposed 500 mega-watt power plant on the former Greenpoint Terminal Market location in Greenpoint. 

"John Banks, Con Edison's director of governmental relations, said community protests were among the factors killing the Greenpoint project."
