Housing Plus Services

Shelter for the Homeless serves lower Fairfield County by providing adult males with temporary housing that leads to permanent supportive housing, as well as adult support services (for men and women) individually tailored to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency. Services include: emergency shelter, site-based transitional housing and supportive housing, as well as recovery, health care, and education/employment support services for adults over age 18.

Pathway to Housing is a 12-bed, shelter-based transitional housing program designed to meet the needs of emergency shelter clients preparing to move into more permanent housing. Through daily classes and individualized instruction and coaching, participants learn the various skills necessary for independent living. This is an adult program not specifically tailored for youth.

Future Proposed Housing for Youth: Currently working on creating a 7 unit single-room-occupancy site with DMHAS for 18-24 homeless young adults.
