The Central Park Reservior is one of the oldest reserviors to exist in New York State. This Reservior was used in earlier time when the city only existed for farmland and many people weren't around to pollute the water. Once the city population started to grow, the reservior could no longer be used because of the danger that the city water could be at risk because of the people so the plant had to be shut down and New York City now uses many other reserviors within the state to help provide a billions gallons a day to the people who need the water. The Central Park Reservior is now standing as a landmark in the park for the city water usage.
