The Newtown Creek Waterwaster Treatment Plant is the plant that helps to filter garbage and things that come through sewagewaste out so that the sterilzed water could be filtered back into the East River "clean". The Plant treats waste for the lower part of Manhattan and into the beginning edges of Brooklyn. The plant goes through a series of processes to help clean the water enough to where the water could be restored into the river. The left over waste that does get filtered out ends up turing into suledge. Some of the waste from the process gets drained even more then the consistency of the waste after being drained helps it to earn it's name of cake because the consistency is much like cake.
