Site Description[1] 
 The site is approximately 1.8 acres in size. It is located on Locust Avenue between 136th and 137th Streets in the Bronx.  The site consists of two parking lots.  The current use is for truck parking and storage.  The surrounding parcels are currently used for a combination of commercial and industrial purposes. The nearest residential area is approximately one quarter mile from the site.  The site was used as a gas holder for the nearby East 138th Street Works. The gas holder was built circa 1892 and operated until 1961.  As of this update no investigations have been conducted at the site, however, Consolidated Edison has entered into a legal agreement to investigate this former MGP site.  A Site Characterization is scheduled to commence in 2009.
